Being able to filter to next week's count would allow you to prep for the following week. This is helpful when there is a holiday to interrupt order/delivery times. Also, when the ordering person is taking time off they can help prep to make it easier for a back up person to order.
I would find this helpful to see what items are to be counted the next week easier in cases of holiday closures. If my shipment is getting delayed and/or my order date is shifting it would be nice to do a quick glance over the items I may need to order a little early to ensure I have enough to get through the holiday. It doesn't mean I have to count everything just lay eyes on it since it would be counted the next week.
My thinking was it would give me the ability to look a week ahead if, say,
the person who does the ordering wouldn't be available to order the
following week. This would let users count items a week ahead of time (in a
manner similar to the items on the low stock list), potentially catching
items that would run out before the cycle ends during their absence and
prompting them to order these items ahead of time.
At the time I made the request, I was a brand new user trying to solve a
problem I was faced with at the moment. Ultimately, I was able to use
experience and my Vetcove purchase history to make a two-week order, but
being able to see which items were due to be counted during my absence
would've been helpful in this process.
In speaking to Sophia more recently, she explained that in a pinch, the
practice could simply accept the estimated counts and make an order in the
inventory manager's absence. Now that I have a better understanding of
Inventory Ally and have many items mapped to our PIMS, I suspect this would
work fine. That said, I still think there'd be some value in a tool that
allowed users to look ahead one week.

I'd love to understand more about how you think this would work. Given that we wouldn't have updated the consumption of the items yet, the suggested quantities to order wouldn't be accurate (and maybe not helpful), so I'm trying to wrap my head around this one!
